Pico do Papagaio is the second highest point on Ilha Grande at 982 meters above sea level, just below Pico da Pedra d´Água at 1,035 meters. From above it is possible to see much of the coastline of Ilha Grande and the mainland. Depending on the visibility, it is possible to see the entire extension of Restinga da Marambaia, Pedra da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro, Finger of God in Serra dos Órgãos and Pico do Frade in Serra da Bocaina.
The trail is strong, with 6 kilometers uphill all the time. On the way back, the descent is no less tiring.
The company of a guide is essential for everything to work out. Countless people have already been lost for days and needed to be rescued by the Fire Department.
